There are many types of soil that can be in carpet fibers.  This carpet has two types of soil, one called the "forgotten spill" and the other created from some four legged friends of the family.  The forgotten spill are stains that come from spilled liquids containing colorless sugar that remains on the fibers.  After long exposure to the air, hidden stains change into insoluble brown stains, but are not always noticed because of dirt covering them. This combination of stains did not phase our technician a bit!
